Purify Your Home Air

November 20, 2009

As shocking as it may seem inside air can actually be more impure than outside air. Along with outdoor pollutants creeping inside, most homes contain many sources of pollutants as well. Although some of them are more serious than others, knowing these pollutants are in your dwelling can be somewhat disturbing. And the danger is often higher with more constant exposure to them, so cutting down on this time is at least one thing that can help.

We have evolved to a point where we are able to manage a moderate degree of these air-borne pollutants, but certain people are much more sensitive than others. For most people the amount and stretch of time exposed must to be somewhat high for severe or long term damage to take place so that’s good news. But those people who are more vulnerable may wish to consider utilizing products like furnace air filters to help filter and purify the air.

Some of these filters function nicely to remove some of the standard pollutants and allergens, like dust mites, bacteria, pollen and animal dander from the air. People who have allergies particularly may want to search for home filters and air conditioning filters. Signals that you may possess an allergy include sneezing, coughing, headaches, itchy eyes or nose, difficulty breathing or fatigue. If you have these symptoms for a long length of time let your doctor know. You might need to consult an allergist.

Another thing you can do to help is dust and vacuum your home regularly to clean these things from the table tops and carpet. This way they can’t always be kicked up into the air.
