Now is the time for many to start thinking about where to go on break…or possiblmayby in this current economic market it should be whether to go abroad. If budget is in the front of the mind; then somewhere domestic might be a good idea. Within Great Britain there is much to discover, if not the greatest traditional holiday resorts. These exist but you certainly can’t guarantee any hotweather. But what about a trip in the Scottish hills or going to the peaceful lake District? No need to get holiday money if you’re not going too far. Or you could just hop across the channel to Ireland via ship.

So if you take the decision not to go on an overseas vacation, what is there to do this July to August? Well if the key thing is to spend as little money as possible, you could decide to to visit some relatives or friends you have not visited for ages. As long as they have spare rooms you don’t have to spend on a hotel and you can get your dinners homemade and not have to pay restaurant prices. Or you can think of new things to do whilst you’re at home. Rather than just rent dvds online , you might take up a new interest, perhaps exercise more such as take running seriously. You might take up knitting – do those things you’ve always wanted to do but left behind.

Surfing thenet is always a great way to spend time but also to learn about fresh topics. You have the most enormous knowledge base at your fingertips – just let your mind wander and discover some of the hiddengems on Wikipedia. There are a seeminglyinfinite number of blogs out there; and about all manner of interests. Some are just an explorative diary of somebody’s life or for the more serious reader there are blogs with business news which are in some cases quicker than the mainstream press and will certainly offer you an individual perspective. So go on waste a bit of time surfing – maybe put together your own weblog!
